Pallet collection UK: your guide to sending palletised freight

An astonishing five billion pallets are in use around the world. Freight forwarders collect, carry and deliver all kinds of goods on them every day. Indeed, a single pallet may travel from Birmingham to Bora Bora, and back again, during its life cycle.

As a UK-based business, you need to know how to get your goods from A to B (or Z) as safely, quickly and economically as possible. This is the case whether you want to send your consignments down the road or internationally. You can do this using our Pallet collection service.

For UK pallet collection and delivery, one of the fastest, safest and most energy-efficient ways to transport your goods is via a palletised freight network. A pallet network acts as a kind of central post office for palletised freight, collecting from and delivering to local postcodes across the UK.

As a platinum member of Palletways, for example, International Forwarding (IFL) collects from and delivers to multiple postcodes in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Booking your pallet collection with us brings overnight UK delivery within reach. As a guide, our Premium service takes 1-2 days, with Economy options in 2-3 days, depending on location. (You’ll receive indicative delivery times when making a booking.)

Pallet collection and delivery – how does it work?

How UK pallet delivery works with a hub model

Firstly, you need to contact us to either get a quote or book your pallet collection. Depending on the collection postcode, either IFL or one of our fellow Palletways network members, will collect your pallet. They will then take it to the nearest Palletways hub for processing and onward delivery.

What happens at the Palletways hub?

At the hub, your pallet is unloaded, scanned, reloaded and forwarded to the local depot. It’s then delivered onward to your requested destination.

You can track your pallet easily, with live tracking information available throughout the delivery. We offer a two-hour ETA on pallet delivery for UK freight. You’ll be notified by SMS / email so you can plan more effectively, and you or your customers don’t have to wait around all day for delivery.
