International Forwarding has added a brand-new DAF 18-tonne rigid curtain-sider to its cargo fleet and the new arrival is causing great excitement at our Birmingham HQ, so much so that we’ve been out and about on the local streets for a photoshoot with our latest model.
Lowest emissions
This truck is fully automatic, which should make it more efficient and green, and it is the latest Euro 6 spec, giving the lowest emissions available at the moment. Additional features include automatic engine cut-off after idling for five minutes.
New livery
IFL has gone red, white and blue on its latest livery. “We specified the red chassis so that it complemented the IFL brand colours and we opted for a blue curtain to match our latest trailers – they tend to look better over the long run than our traditional white curtains,” said Rob Pike, Managing Director of International Forwarding, who recently gained his Class 1 licence.
Fleet upgrades
The new DAF forms part of the ongoing rejuvenation of International Forwarding’s growing cargo fleet. It’s IFL’s first new rigid truck since 2008 and our first fleet buy since investing in our new Volvo Tractor unit and two new trailers last year. We are also hoping to take delivery of a second DAF in the autumn.
