A Coleshill candle-making business is expanding out of its home-based operation into a refurbished office block at one of International Forwarding’s warehouses.
From this Saturday 1 August, Chris Evans and Anna Ledwitch of Coleshill Candle Co will be taking their first step to bigger things by renting offices at IFL for 12 months. The couple started making luxury scented candles a year ago, selling them at craft shows and events. But while on furlough during lockdown, they “took the plunge” to launch their own website and online sales platform.
Chris said: “Sales increased after we launched www.coleshillcandleco.com and so we were desperately looking to move from our double garage in Water Orton to a bigger workshop. This is where IFL stepped in, through a connection with a friend. They have been so helpful and accommodating, and we are so excited to be part of the IFL business community.”
It’s a double win for the company as August will also see the release of their worldwide trademark and hopefully some international sales through Amazon and other e-commerce sites. They hope to take IFL’s other bigger office space at some point as they continue to grow.
Nigel Parsons, Network Director, IFL, said: “In these Covid times, as a well-established Coleshill company, we were happy to help a brand new one get started. This small office block was lying empty and just had a rowing machine in there! We cleaned it up, ripped out the carpets, painted it inside and out – and sealed the deal.
“IFL is also about to expand our own warehousing facilities in August – to add much-needed storage capacity during lockdown and ahead of Brexit – but that means we often have extra yard and car park space or office facilities. If we can rent these spaces out, that helps both us and other companies.”
With both companies benefiting, it sounds like a case of ‘Candle with care!’
