International Forwarding Ltd (IFL) of Coleshill, Birmingham, has joined forces with Spanish operator, Intertransit, to run a brand new UK-Spain freight forwarding service.
The Birmingham-Barcelona deal offers a twice-weekly road freight service. This is a new route for experienced transport operator, Intertransit, which had been looking to fulfil demand for Midlands-bound traffic. IFL offered the ideal combination of location, expertise and security with its Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status and Brexit readiness.
For IFL, the deal offers the opportunity to build on its existing Spain/Canaries shipping service. Import-export businesses shipping from Birmingham and the Midlands will be able to take advantage of fast, regular and cost-efficient forwarding services to Spain, including groupage and customs clearance services. IFL also recently doubled its warehousing space in the Midlands to facilitate future storage and third-party logistics (3PL) requirements.
