Some team events are sweeter than others. After doing the Wolf Run and a paintballing day out this summer, Team IFL took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning last Friday 28 September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff made and brought in biscuits, brownies, tarts, tray bakes, flapjacks, fancies, cupcakes, Viennese whirls, three-tier sponges and sausage rolls. Tea and coffee were also served – all in return for a donation, of course.
As a result, International Forwarding Ltd (IFL) raised a staggering £214 on the day. Nigel Parsons, IFL’s Network Development Director (main picture, bottom right), said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who baked for our Macmillan Coffee Morning and who came along to help us support this great cause. We might need to do a sponsored run to work it off, though…”
Last year the UK-wide event raised more than £27 million to help people facing cancer. Macmillan has been running its Coffee Morning since 1990 and has raised more than £200 million in that time.
Fundraising through teamwork and individual sponsorship is an ongoing and important part of International Forwarding Ltd’s business.
Over the years, we have supported both local and national causes, from kitting out our local under-8s football team to sponsored runs and swims for various charities to our MD doing the Ice Bucket Challenge in a suit to raise funds for motor neurone disease.
