Last month we had the honour of shipping a Tour de France winner to the UK in the form of sprinter Marcel Kittel’s Giant Propel Advanced SL – the world’s fastest aero road bike.
Kittel of Team Giant-Shimano won the 190.5km opening stage of the Tour de France 2014, from Leeds to Harrogate, before going on to three more stage victories in the world-famous road race. He used this particular bike, which was made especially for riding in the Tour De France, in stage two of the competition.
The £6,000 bike is on loan from Shimano-Europe in Nunspeet in the Netherlands for use as an exhibition showpiece. It arrived on International Forwarding Ltd’s daily road freight groupage service from the Benelux to our depot in the West Midlands, and was then forwarded safely on to Madison sports distributor in Milton Keynes.
Our special cargo weighed just 10kg and it was delivered with Tour de France-like express speed, within 48 hours of taking the booking.
