How are shipping containers made?

container ship

Ever wanted to know how shipping containers are made? Well, first you take a roll of steel…

Then you cut, sandblast and prime the walls, corrugate for strength, trim, encase sides in square steel tubing, add floor braces and roof panels, weld panels and sand smooth, assemble the door and corner posts, fit the components together, prime and paint, varnish and lay the wood flooring, add door hardware, rubber seals and waterproofing, test for strength and watertightness, inspect and deploy.

A new 20ft shipping container costs from £2000.
